Even though we're likely to say goodbye to the GTA Online that we know and love when GTA 6 finally arrives, that doesn't mean that the game is finished. In fact, it seems far from over.
The online component of GTA V has been going incredibly strong - seemingly beyond the series' expectations - and keeps trudging a decade later. It doesn't really seem as though the online multiplayer is running out of ideas after releasing doomsday bunkers, yachts and nightclubs.
Alongside the 'explosive' San Andreas Mercenaries expansion, and having some familiar faces pop up over the years, it looks like yet another ghost from the past could be coming to the game...quite literally.
Johnny Klebitz is coming back for GTA Online
As the protagonist of GTA IV: The Lost and the Damned, Johnny Klebitz is beloved by those who remember him. Fans got yet another glimpse into his life when GTA V appeared, though it was pretty brief as Trevor stomped his head in as a part of the character's introduction.
Now, Johnny's brief cameo isn't going to be the end of Klebitz. One GTA fan's datamine has revealed that Jonny Klebitz is part of GTA Online, only now, he's appearing as a ghost. You know, on account of him being quite dead.
It's a compelling appearance for the character, and though it isn't expected to be much more than yet another cameo for him, it's still nice to see him - tethered to this mortal plain or not.
Why is Johnny Klebitz in GTA Online?
Fans aren't yet sure why Klebitz is set to join the cast of characters in GTA Online, but the original poster's theory is that he will appear as part of a Halloween-themed deathmatch game.
Whether he'll be here as an antagonist or a background spook (that is, if he's part of a deathmatch at all) remains to be seen, but it's still nice that he's kicking around Los Santos in some way. We'd be out of there like a shot if we'd perished and turned into a ghost in the crime-ridden city, but each to their own.
