Gaming Boss Asks You To Stop Modding Elden Ring

Even though modding and Elden Ring go hand in hand, one gaming boss from Bandai Namco has asked you to stop merging franchises in the Lands Between.

It's all a bit of fun modding Elden Ring. Away from graphical improvements and an easy mode, some Elden Ring modders are letting their imaginations run wild as they add everyone from Shrek to Thomas the Tank Engine to the Lands Between. It's all pretty standard fodder, with PC versions of everything from Resident Evil Village to God of War getting the same treatment.

As soon as an AAA title releases on PC, it's a quick race over to Nexus Mods to see what weird and wonderful mods have been uploaded. These range from the comical to the X-rated, but on the whole, they don't do any harm. Sadly, not everyone is impressed though, with one gaming boss asking you to please stop modding Elden Ring

Who Asked Us To Stop Modding Elden Ring?

The latest Elden Ring grumbles come after someone modded Tekken 7, with the Ultimate Elden Ring Modpack turning fighters into all your FromSoftware favourites. The mod is an impressive build that's got plenty of attention online - unfortunately, not all of it was wanted.

In response to the Elden Ring and Tekken crossover, Tekken Director Katsuhiro Harada said: "Um... Sure, Elden is a Bandai Namco-funded title, and I was the production general manager in charge of Elden, so it's not irrelevant ... it's ridiculously well-made mod but plz stop it lol." Although Harada put a "lol" on the end, he's not impressed. Seeing Gigas replaced with Alexander the Pot Guy is all a bit of fun, but Harada isn't laughing.

When asked why he has beef with the modding community, the gaming boss continued: "U probably don't know, but there r surprisingly many ppl who think this is official one or make various misunderstandings & contact us. I DON'T say anything for ur personal enjoyment, but I want u to know that there r ppl in ur community who make noise based on misunderstandings." At the end of the day though, there's not a lot he can do.

Will You Have To Stop Modding Elden Ring?

Remembering that both Tekken and Elden Ring fall under the Bandai Namco umbrella - and seeing how slick the crossover trailer is - you'd be forgiven for thinking this was an official crossover between the two franchises. Sadly, we're left modding on our own... just don't tell Harada.

For the time being, the modding community is alive and well in this fantasy epic. If you aren't interested in cosmetic makeovers that turn Renna into Princess Bubblegum, there are actually some useful Elden Ring mods that help your gruelling quest. Of course, installing them involves disabling FromSoft's anti-cheat, which could get you banned on its own. Although modding Elden Ring might look like a lot of fun, it's clear that those at the top don't want you to. Time to go covert.
