Floating city builder Flotsam is free to keep on the Epic Games Store from 4pm UK time on Thursday, November 5, and PC players have until 4pm on Thursday, November 12 to add it to their library.
It takes over the free slot from survival horror Sorry We're Closed, and Epic is also throwing in a hefty free pack for Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms, which is handy if you fancy a bit of Dungeons & Dragons to go with your floating rubbish.
How to claim Flotsam for free
- Head to the Epic Games Store website or open the Epic Games Launcher on PC any time after 4pm UK time on November 5.
- Sign in to your Epic account, or make a free one if you don't have one yet.
- Find Flotsam in the free games section of the store, click Get and then Place Order, which should show a total of £0.00.
- Once it's in your library it's yours to keep, even after the offer ends on November 12.
What is Flotsam?
Flotsam is a city builder set on a flooded planet, where you build a drifting town out of the rubbish floating on the sea, recycle scrap into homes and workshops, rescue survivors (and a few seagulls) and sail off to explore the ruins of the old world. It's made by Pajama Llama Games, a small studio from Ghent in Belgium, and it finally left Early Access in December 2025 after more than six years of development.
It normally costs $24.99 on Steam, where it holds a Very Positive rating from players, so it's a very decent freebie if you like your city builders on the chilled side.
A free bonus for Idle Champions fans
Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms is already free to play, but if you log in to the game through the Epic Games Store during the same week you'll get Morte's Champions of Renown Pack, which Epic says is worth over $100. It unlocks five champions (Morte, Nordom, Donaar, Sentry and Sheila) plus 32 Platinum Chests for each of them, two week-long potions and an exclusive Kapak Draconian familiar, but just claiming it on the store isn't enough, as you'll need to install the game and sign in during the offer.
Epic usually reveals the following week's freebie when the offer swaps over on Thursday afternoon, so it's worth checking the store page after 4pm if you want a sneak peek at what's free from November 12.
Well, one person's floating rubbish is another person's free game, so get claiming before November 12.
