We're in the airlock and ready to be launched into space, as Starfield is nearly upon us. After what feels like an eternity of waiting (well, it has been eight years since development started) and more delays than we'd care to count, Starfield is nearly here.
As Bethesda's first new IP in 25 years, there's a lot of hype and a lot riding on Starfield. Thankfully, it's already getting plenty of praise and is poised to give frontrunners like Tears of the Kingdom a challenge as Game of the Year.
Starfield sex mod gets removed
Part of what's kept us playing the Bethesda behemoth of Skyrim for the past 12 years are the mods. It's expected to be the same with Starfield, as the popular Nexus Mods had its Starfield mod page live long before the game's September 1 release.
Despite the Starfield mod page being live, there were no actual mods on there - on account of the game not being out yet. That all changed when the "Bub Alien Sex Mod 2021 2023 Microsoft Windows E3 Overhaul - No Strings Attached DLC" appeared. It's a bit of a mouthful, but that's the point (insert smutty wink here).
The Bub Alien Sex mod quickly went viral on Reddit, but at the time of writing, has been scrubbed from Nexus Mods. Either the mod was a fake, or it's come from one of those sneaky leakers who got their hands on Starfield early and has been spoiling it for the rest of us.
Can you have sex in Starfield?
The question of space nooky has been an oddly popular one. While we doubt it's as raunchy as banging a bear in Baldur's Gate 3, it's expected that you will be able to knock space boots in Zero-G. The Starfield rating originally suggested we couldn't have sex, but that didn't last long.
As fans turned to Bethesda to beg for sex to be added in, another rating pointed to some raunchy dialogue and even possible jetpack sex. Whether Todd Howard and co. are dialling up the adults-only content or not, the modders are sure to do the work for us. By the looks of it, some already are.
Modding is tipped to make Starfield the next Skyrim, and whether that be through putting Darth Vader in as a companion, letting you fight Xenomorphs, or allowing Buzz Lightyear wardrobe options, there are sure to be plenty of sex mods thrown in for good measure.
