In a series of tweets, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth developers have shared their insights into what the game will bring.
After several announcements about the game, including a release date, were revealed in Sony’s September State of Play, excitement for the second part of the Final Fantasy 7 remakes has risen.
Developers say Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will encourage exploration
Three of the developers involved in the creation of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the game after the announcements made at the State of Play.
One recurring theme throughout the statements was that the world would be expanded and enhanced.
Placing emphasis on the size of the world, producer Yoshinori Kitase, said: “This second instalment of the FiNAL FANTASY VII remake project will feature elements from the previous game, as well as greatly enhanced features such as the vast world map to explore and synergy abilities with party members.”
The huge amounts of exploration are emphasised by director Naoki Hamaguchi, who said that there is going to be nearly 100 hours of adventure to experience in the game.
He said: “While the main storyline is bigger and more ambitious than the previous game's narrative, FINAL FANTASY VIl REBIRTH also embraces the concept of ‘free exploration,’ with compelling stories, fun mini-games, powerful monsters and so much more to find throughout the world map. We hope you will explore this world in great detail.”

The concept of exploration is also expanded on within the gameplay trailer which was released as part of the September State of Play.
From sprawling cities, to lush greenery and craggy mountains, there are several stunning locations debuted in the trailer which lend themselves well to the idea of exploring an expansive map.
There is still a while to wait before the game is released, however from what we have seen so far, it looks as though it is going to be an impressive remake.
