Efficiency is a fantastic motto to live by.  In football, it's the Sean Dyche way to live. No nonsense. None of this tiki-taka malarkey, just simple route one football. Pass, shoot, goal. Tap, tap, boom.

Well, we've just found the Dyche of EA FC 24, as one pro has just secured the dub against his opponent by scoring four goals with a staggering 9% possession.

EA FC 24 esports player wins Pro Series match with '9% possession'

EA FC 24 fans are keeping a keen eye on the FC 24 Pro Series for the first time, given that the esports league has now been embedded into Ultimate Team through the Pro Live promotion, where cards were added into the mode that will upgrade depending on their performances.

But one player has now upset a lot of fans by halting the progress of the popular Hirving Lozano card (Manuel Bachoore) in favour of their own, Angelo Ogbonna (Anonini Gabriel), in the most bizarre fashion.

Gabriel defeated Bachoore in a 4-3 win in the Pro Series, but the statistics released on social media revealed that he won with just 9% possession.

EA FC 24 pro's incredible efficiency beats out all Premier League records

To really make this stat stand out, Anonini Gabriel's win with just 9% possession beats all Premier League records, as no team in the English top-flight division has won a game with less than 15% possession since records began in 2003.

In fact, only two sides have ever won a game with less than 20% possession since the records began in England, as Nottingham Forest defeated Arsenal 1-0 in April 2023 with 18%, and Burnley nabbed a win against Liverpool with 19.4% in 2016.

Baring these 1-0 scrapes in mind, it's even crazier that Gabriel was able to net four goals with such a low stat, scoring with literally every touch of the ball.

There is a lot of scepticism on the accuracy of this stat, which takes the gloss off the win somewhat. Fans have questioned how he managed to string together 163 passes with such a low possession stat. You can never believe the numbers...
