Herschel "Guy" Beahm IV, aka DrDisrespect, has given a candid interview about his dramatic Twitch ban. Discussing the DrDisrespect ban, the popular streamer has admitted he's been suffering with anxiety since Twitch gave him the boot. He claims that despite having dealt with plenty of high-pressure situations, he's never had face anxiety before.
DrDisrespect was mysteriously banned from Twitch earlier this year - seemingly without warning. Given how Twitch doesn't reveal why it bans streamers, DrDisrespect and his loyal legion of fans are seemingly no closer to finding out what really went down. Following his Twitch ban, DrDisrespect took a month off, but now he's back and keen to clear up a few things.
Speaking during an August 31 stream on YouTube, DrDisrespect said, "I’ve played sports my whole life. I’ve been in high-pressure situations… with a game on the line, streaming in front of a ton of people with a game on the line. Man, we’ve lived a good life. But I’ve never dealt with anxiety before".
He continued, "We’ve overcome a lot of ‘stuff’ in the past and we got to such a good point ladies and gentlemen, Champions Club. I’m talking all cylinders firing… feeling incredible, and everything. And to have that taken away from you and to not know anything about it. I didn’t know anything about it and I wasn’t told anything. Everything we built, all the eggs in one bucket just taken away. The fact that I’m here on YouTube, it has been a fantastic return. But my anxiety levels are so high that they come in these huge waves, and I’m having a hard time dealing with it".
Beahm explained how he feels at loss for not knowing why he was banned. With DrDisrespect being one of Twitch's top streamers, his ban came as more that a little shock to us all. Given the fact DrDisrespect was banned from Twitch, it means other streamers can't feature him in their videos - also limiting who can promote his new channel.
Although DrDisrespect was only signed at the start of 2020, his short stint on Twitch came to an end in June. Thankfully, things have been going well for the Doc after his move to YouTube. His first stream gained a massive 400,000 concurrent viewers. As it stands, he's nearing 3 million subscribers on YouTube, which is an impressive feat for anyone. Discussing his new-found fame, Beahm concluded, "Just so you know, there might be days when the Doc seems off, feels off. We’re trying to learn the dark alleyway, man. We’re trying to get out of it".
While we'll probably never get to the bottom of the DrDisrespect drama, it's sad to hear he's been battling with anxiety since. Here's hoping it's onto bigger and better things for Beahm.
