Destiny 2's Content Vault was certainly controversial when it started keeping paid content out of players' hands in the name of making the game more manageable.

And yet, the long-running game keeps finding reasons to bring missions, weapons, and even full raids back for players in the name of nostalgia.

Still, after The Final Shape was delayed, Season of the Wish is getting new content in a few weeks dubbed 'Into the Light' - and a new leak suggests it'll be another chance to visit vaulted destinations.

Destiny 2 leaks claim planets are being unvaulted for Into The Light update

Surfacing on Reddit, reliable Destiny 2 leaker "Liz" has claimed that "missions will take place on old planets, [with a] different planet each week", while these revisited landing sites will also see old guns resurface to be combined with new perks.

So far, Destiny has a few vaulted destinations that could come into play. Io, Mercury, Mars, The Tangled Shore, and Calus' Leviathan were all lost to The Darkness, but fans aren't best pleased about the idea of more recycling.

Destiny 2 fans upset with leaked 'recycled' content

With Destiny 2's ship steering towards the path of remastered and re-released content, fans have now criticised Bungie for a lack of original content for these big updates.

"Destiny and reissuing content, I’m shocked," said one fan sarcastically on Reddit.

Another clearly unimpressed fan added, "Haven't played since light fall and this isn't exactly enticing me to come back, more of the same content to get more of the same weapons."

Into The Light's penciled-in April release will also see the return of some favourite guns from the series, including a modified Recluse, but it may take more than old guns to bring Guardians back.
