Dead Island 2 is already on sale

Dead Island 2's numbers are incredible, and there's probably a good reason for that, as Dambuster Studios' game is already on sale.

After dragging itself through development hell, Dead Island 2 is finally here. After 10 years of waiting to obliterate zombies in the heart of Hell-A, the game is… alright.

Dead Island 2 isn't everything that fans had once hoped for, but for the title to even come out of development hell feels an awful lot like a win in itself. For fans of the first Dead Island, there's still a lot to love, including an intense gore system that sees players hack panels of flesh from the heads of the undead.

Even though Dead Island hasn't met critical hopes, it certainly hasn't deterred the die-hards. Dambuster Studios' game is selling like hotcakes, which might have something to do with the fact it's already on sale.

Frankly, it's no surprise that players are getting involved when Dead Island 2's price is already on the comedown. The 2023 title already has a 10% markdown on PC, with Fanatical offering the game for $54, the deluxe edition for $58.50, and the Gold edition for $72.

The game's going cheap, so if you want to carve up some zombies, now's the time to get started. Fanatical's Dead Island 2 super saver deal is live until May 5, but as it's an Epic Games exclusive, you'll have to download the code and redeem via its own store.

10% might not be a massive saving, but considering The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is largely the same price it was when it was released in 2017, we'll take what we can when it comes to gaming discounts.

Dead Island 2 is selling well

As for the numbers, Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios have revealed that Dead Island 2 has surpassed the expectations of many and sold over 1 million copies since it was released on April 21. Blimey.

A brand-new press release from Deep Silver revealed the incredible statistic, as well as announcing a few in-game stats too. 756 million limbs have been dismembered, 45 million zombies have been sliced in half, and 1.1 billion of them have been killed.

11 million hours have been played in the first three days, which is a remarkable feat for such a troubled game, and it goes to show that Dead Island was sorely missed. We say, roll on Dead Island 3
