As the Crash Bandicoot franchise is poised to become an Xbox exclusive, PlayStation fans are furious at Microsoft bosses for apparently mocking the situation.

The gaming world is in more of a spin than Crash Bandicoot himself right now, with Microsoft's record-breaking $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard pulling the rug from underneath us all. It's an exciting time for the industry, but it puts a major question mark over some pretty huge franchises.
While PlayStation fans have finally stopped sweating than to the reassurance Call of Duty should be secure as a multi-platform franchise, things are less clear for Overwatch and World of Warcraft, with other hidden gems like Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Spyro the Dragon, and Crash Bandicoot all coming under Microsoft's mighty fist.
Why Are Crash Fans Angry At Microsoft?
The issue of legacy franchises like Crash Bandicoot is a thorny one. Remembering that Crash was originally envisioned as Sony's mascot to rival Nintendo's Mario and SEGA's Sonic the Hedgehog, it's a tear-jerking possibility that he might be pulled from the console that made him a household name.
Tensions are running high right now, which hasn't been helped by one Microsoft exec changing his profile picture to the spinning marsupial. Xbox General Manager of Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg changed his Twitter profile to a seemingly pointed pose of him and Crash making an Xbox symbol with their hands.
Greenberg opened up old wounds, with PlayStation fans claiming he's purposefully trolling them at this difficult time. Although he's since said it was supposed to celebrate the merger, he's become Microsoft's very own Dr. Neo Cortex to some. One angry fan wrote, "@Sony creates. @Microsoft takes. @aarongreenberg...enjoy your sloppy seconds fella."
Will Crash Bandicoot Become An Xbox Exclusive?
Others saw nothing wrong with Greenberg's profile picture and claim it's just the moaning of "butt-hurt" PlayStation fans. Whether Greenberg knew what he was doing or not, he's seen the battle lines drawn more clearly than ever. It might be too soon to be joking about Crash.
While Xbox Boss Phil Spencer has reiterated some franchises will remain multiplatform, Crash is lost in limbo. You only have to look at the sales of 2020's Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time to see it would be a shrewd move to lock the inevitable Crash 5 to Xbox. Do you really think Greenberg and co. are going to lose any sleep that PlayStation fans will lose Crash? Cheers Aaron, Tiny Tiger's crying now.
