While Lara Croft, The Boys, and the 50 years of Hip Hop crossovers all got the Call of Duty community excited, it's hard to think of a better collab for MW2 & Warzone 2 than DOOM.

Well, Activision is finally bringing some of the legendary franchise's hellish influence into CoD, alongside Diablo of course.

Although a Doom Slayer Operator was a little too much to ask for, players will be able to get their hands on the DOOM chainsaw melee weapon.

This has well and truly caught the "attention" of CoD fans, with some claiming it could be the best crossover to date.

Taking to the ModernWarfareII subreddit, user W3sley2004 decided to shine a light on the upcoming DOOM melee weapon, praising the collab for grabbing their "attention."

A variant of the Pickaxe, the DOOM chainsaw is the perfect weapon for mowing down enemies in the Halloween season.

The announcement of the crossover has gone down extremely well with the community, who have had to admit that Activision has done amazing with the Season 6 skins.

"This community complains about licensed bundles but Skeletor, Ash and Doom Chainsaw and Shotgun is awesome," said one user, with another revealing they "Can't wait to get my hands on his shotgun. MWHAHAHA."

CoD Doom Chainsaw

Of course, while the DOOM Chainsaw and shotgun are incredible, the Doom Slayer Operator skin would have been the cherry on top.

"GIVE US A DOOMSLAYER SKIN YOU COWARDS," joked one user, with another arguing there's a "Distinct lack of Mr. Rip & Tear, but maybe later down the line."

We imagine it's only a matter of time before Doom Guy makes an appearance in CoD, and the melee weapon is just a taster of what's to come.

It's possible Activision is saving that for MW3's cycle of content, but in the meantime, the chainsaw is certainly turning heads.
