The full Modern Warfare 3 release may not be until November 10, but leaks have already revealed what future content fans can expect.

Based on data mined information, Sledgehammer intends to introduce "throwback seasons" that each celebrate a different past game in the franchise. These nostalgic patches will add new features from these classic titles in a remastered form.

According to leaks, Season 3 of MW3 will be dedicated to Advanced Warfare and may add the ASM1, BAL27, EM1, and MOR weapons to the game.

Not everyone is pleased about this, and have asked the devs not to add "goofy" futuristic guns to MW3, as they won't fit the theme.

CoD players don't want "goofy" futuristic guns in MW3

Taking to the Modern Warfare 3 subreddit, user MikeJon45 sparked a debate after asking Sledgehammer to avoid putting "futuristic guns" into MW3.

In their opinion, adding Advanced Warfare's weapons will transform the game into a "goofy shooter," similar to the "last season of Vanguard."

For them, these guns will look "stupid and out of place" in the MW3 setting, and won't match the theme at all. Other players agree, arguing "It's getting unbearable how these CoD games are coming out pre-ruined with clown skins and guns from the year 4000."

Other CoD fans are desperate for Advanced Warfare guns to be added

Advanced Warfare crossover

Not everyone hates the idea though, in fact, a large majority of players are over the moon that Advanced Warfare is coming to MW3.

"I'll take the heat but… I like some of those futuristic guns lol, but I get how they don’t fit the setting," said one user, with another claiming "It’s genuinely not that serious, Cod is a goofy game and if these guns make the game more fun then I‘m all for it."

Some of the CoD community are even urging the Mil-Sim fans to finally realise that the series will never be strictly military-themed, and that "If you want realism, COD isn't your franchise and it probably never will be."

For now, the Advanced Warfare collab is just based on leaks, but if the update does arrive, it's guaranteed to divide the playerbase.
