The invisible operator has made a return in Call of Duty: Warzone, and it threatens to overturn the meta of the game incredibly quickly.

Glad to see the RICOCHET anti-cheat is working. Call of Duty: Warzone has struggled with cheaters for some time, just as many other free-to-play titles have.

However, the problems that stretch across Verdansk and Caldera have been a little more iconic, for all the wrong reasons - the battle royale title has been seen as a bit of a hive for cheaters and hackers for a very long time now, with very little changing.

The new kernel anti-cheat software has indeed helped, but it hasn't ironed out the cheating that exemplifies the title just yet. And now, completely by accident, a new invisibility glitch in a long string of invisibility glitches is causing a lot of problems. Again.

What Is The New Warzone Invisibility Glitch?

A new problem has appeared in Warzone, and namely, it's the return of the invisible skin - a banger of a glitch from the Call of Duty archives.

In response to a tweet from Raven Software promoting the Festive Fervor event, a player has posted a video that shows them killing an enemy who is completely invisible.

They turn to respond to noises from a nearby cliff and fire into seemingly nothing. The appearing hit markers and audio responses indicate that a player is standing there, invisible to the naked eye.

This is a problem that Call of Duty has suffered with before, and since the release of the game's new anti-cheat system to coincide with the new Caldera map, this is not a good look for Warzone.

Fans Decry Warzone's 'Pay-To-Win' Skin

As this glitch is a result of a bug in a specific Operator skin that can be bought like the game's many others, fans are decrying this bug as a 'pay-to-win' scheme that allows those who are willing to pay for it to take a tactical advantage. A lot of games have problems similar to this, but this case is particularly accidental.

Games like Warzone have a habit of prioritising other issues when ones like this crop up, so there's every chance the glitch could be around longer than we'd hope. Still, we've got our fingers crossed that Raven are going to step up to the plate to patch this bug. Otherwise, it could be dominating the meta by the end of the week. With Warzone's history of cheaters, it certainly wouldn't be good press.
