The collaboration era of Call of Duty is well and truly upon and with The Walking Dead making its debut recently, a lot of fans were wondering how the devs were going to raise the bar once again.

This is especially true given how the second crossover with The Boys was met with a little less enthusiasm from players, who are growing tired of superhero events. As a result, Activision had to knock it out of the park with the next event.

Well, it turns out the countless leaks were correct, and Warhammer 40k is coming to Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.

Call of Duty announces Warhammer 40k crossover

Taking to Twitter on March 1, Call of Duty announced that the Warhammer 40k franchise is coming to MW3 and Warzone.

While not unexpected given the data mining information and rumours that were circulating, the community was over the moon to hear it officially from the devs.

"On god, this will get me to play COD," said one user, with another claiming, "This is probably the only CoD collab that makes sense." It's unknown at the moment whether Warhammer is just bringing Operators to CoD, or whether an LTM is coming as well.

Limited time modes have been met with a mixed response from the community, especially given the fact that hackers exploited the one that came with The Boys. It'll be interesting to see whether the devs keep the Warhammer event strictly cosmetic.

Which Warhammer 40k Operator skins are coming to MW3?

We haven't been given a peak at what the Warhammer skins are going to look like just yet, but we do know which ones are coming. These are the Space Marines, Sisters of Battle, and Astra Militarum, so there are going to be three different bundles to choose from.

Call of Duty will no doubt give us our first look at these skins with the release of the Season 2 Reloaded blog that's coming soon. Warhammer 40k is a franchise on the rise, and after Henry Cavill confirmed he's starring in a live-action adaptation, joining the CoDverse is another major win for the IP.
