Call of Duty has struggled with cheaters ever since the inception of its multiplayer, with competitors taking unfair shortcuts to gain an advantage over their foes. While the MW2 & Warzone 2 devs now have the RICOCHET anti-cheat to combat hackers, some still slip through the cracks.

In fact, players have been reporting that cheating is getting significantly worse. It's especially bad in Ranked, where the stakes are at the highest. Fortunately, some good news has surfaced that Activision has managed to ban over 14,000 cheaters in a single sweep.

14,000 cheaters banned in MW2 & Warzone 2

Taking to Twitter on July 28, account Call of Duty Updates revealed that "new detections directly targeting cheat developers at the source has led to over 14,000 account bans for cheating and hacking in Modern Warfare II and Warzone."

This massive wave of suspensions was completed in just "24 hours," making it incredibly impressive and likely improving the gameplay experience for countless players.

As expected, this was met with widespread praise from fans, encouraging them to "keep it up" and carry on the "hard work" when it comes to targeting those using third-party software.

When will MW2 & WZ2 RICOCHET anti-cheat be improved again?

Following MW2 & Warzone 2 Season 4 Reloaded, the community received a Progress Report that detailed all of the improvements that had been introduced to the RICOCHET anti-cheat.

These even featured hallucinations that are invisible to normal players but make it easy to detect hackers and trick them. This was exciting at the time, but fans want RICOCHET to elevate to the next level, and so far, there's been no announcement from the devs.

Well just have to hope the anti-cheat gets an upgrade in Season 5, or at least before MW3 drops in November.
