Forget Hogwarts, there's one school we can't wait to revisit - it's Bullworth Academy. Although we've long given up hope on a new term for Bully 2, it could be time to rummage out your unform.
While Rockstar is mostly celebrated for the Red Dead and GTA games, Bully is an underrated favourite from 2006. Following the snot-faced James "Jimmy" Hopkins, Bully saw him climb the social ranks of the school while trying to find his feet. It's basically the premise of any good GTA title, but instead, swapping guns for slingshots.
What's Going On With Bully 2?
Remember that back in December, noted leaker Tom Henderson claimed Bully 2 was going to be a surprise reveal of The Game Awards. The event came and went, with no sign of Bully 2 - followed by later claims it had been in development but was then canned. Now it seems, Jimmy is pulling back his slingshot once again.
Twitter account @Bully2Source asked Henderson whether he was just "trolling" us about The Game Awards, which led to the notable insider reigniting our hopes. Henderson maintains that there still is something going on with Bully 2, but refused to give more details than that.
The jury is out on whether Bully 2 would be a pre or post-GTA 6 release. As Henderson reminds us, Rockstar has simply said GTA 6 is its next focus point. We're told that the automotive adventure is "well underway" in terms of development, however, remember that Bully 2 was supposed to be announced before this. Could there be a slim chance Bully 2 is closer to release than we thought?
When Could We See Bully 2?
Elsewhere, there's rife speculation that Henderson is talking about a remastered version of the OG Bully instead of a full-blown Bully 2. Given the frosty reception of the GTA Trilogy, it would make sense that Rockstar is cautious to tackle another remake... even one as hyped as Bully.
Way back when, Bully 2 was pitched to be the best Rockstar had to offer, with a map three times bigger than the original, dynamic grass that actually grew, and realistic glass smashing. A lot of the ideas were amalgamated into Red Dead Redemption 2, and at the time of writing, we're no closer to finding out whether Bully 2 is right around the corner or has been handed a permanent detention.
Oh Rockstar, you're getting an 'F' in class.
