Apex Legends’ Crafting System has been a core mechanic in the Battle Royale since the Replicators were added back in Season 6.

Collecting materials at allocated POIs has allowed competitors to craft weapons, hop-ups, ammo, and meds to stock up ready for skirmishes.

Well, Season 20 Breakout is bringing a massive amount of changes to crafting which largely aim to simplify Replicators.

The overhaul is also looking to streamline the crafting process, which means you won’t have to spend time waiting for the item to be created.

Crafting in Apex Legends is a lot more simple in Season 20

Crafting options Apex Legends

For starters, crafting in Apex Legends no longer requires materials, so there’s no need to run around a POI collecting them anymore. Replicators require no resources to make items and can only be used once before they’re exhausted - so only one item per player.

Not only that, you’ll only be able to craft Med Kits, Shield Batteries, ammo, or banners. This means hop-ups, weapons, and other items are no longer part of the rotation. As a result, crafting is now strictly for resupplying or reviving teammates, nothing else.

If that wasn’t enough, while crafting an item in Season 20, there’s no need to wait for the consumable or ammo to be created, it will appear instantly. This means you’re unlikely to get caught out by an annoying team while using a Replicator anymore.

Does that mean all weapons are on the ground in Apex Legends Season 20?

Gibraltar Apex Legends

Yes, it does - all weapons, hop-ups, and items that would typically be in the crafting rotation will now be available to loot on the ground.

This will likely mean more variety in-game, as very few players opted to craft a weapon during their matches.

As Replicators can only be used once per player as well, the strategy of waiting around a crafter endlessly making Med Kits will no longer be viable. This should push squads to fight more alongside the new armour system.

This is a big change for Apex Legends in Season 20, so we’ll have to see how it plays out, especially in Ranked.
