Following a slew of closures at Microsoft and with rumours of more to come, angry Fallout 76 players are taking their rage out on Phil Spencer by nuking his camp.

After 2023 nuked the gaming world and left us with a barren wasteland of irradiated studios and devs locking themselves up in vaults in hopes of staying safe, we thought we'd seen the worst of it. Sadly, 2024 quickly dropped a 100-megaton bomb on us as we continue to feel the fallout from these layoffs.

Even Microsoft and Sony proved they aren't immune to the effects of radiation poisoning, and after the Green Team already braced for 1,900 layoffs, the studios behind Redfall, Hi-Fi Rush, and more have been forced to shut up shop. Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has become Public Enemy No. 1, and now, some are taking out that rage in Fallout 76.

Fallout 76 fans are nuking Phil Spencer

Over on X (formerly Twitter), the viral scene of Phil Spencer's charred Fallout 76 camp has gone viral. P3 is Phil Spencer's online username, and as well as being a fan of Bethesda's online multiplayer, it's been well-documented that the Vault-Dweller P3 is also him.

The problem with being so well known in the Wasteland of Appalachia is that everyone knows where you live. User @real1090jake claims to be the one who dropped the bomb on Spencer's camp, sharing footage of them walking around what little remains of his settlement.

Elsewhere in the comments, others mention this is at least the third time this has happened, suggesting that Spencer can't escape his online haters. Now that the idea of nuking his camp has gone viral, we expect it to become even more of a hotspot.

Much like the Fallout propaganda machine, we obviously don't condone the use of nukes. However, given the vitriol aimed at Spencer right now, we'd rather you nuke his virtual settlement than take your anger out on him in other ways. Still, with it being such a grind to launch a nuke, we're not sure we could even be bothered.

If we were Spencer, we'd probably create a new Fallout 76 character just to get a moment's peace. With rumbles that the latest round of closures is just the tip of a much bigger iceberg, the bombs could soon be raining down on Spencer's camp more than ever. We hope he's got a vault handy.
