Yet another cast member from The Witcher has been dropped as fans of the show received the devastating news that Hector the Horse would not be reprising his role in Season 4.

This comes alongside the announcement that production for Season 4 of the show is delayed and will not start until 2024.

Several cast members are not returning for The Witcher Season 4

Season 4 of the popular Netflix show The Witcher is losing several of its core actors including Henry Cavill, MyAnna Buring and, most recently, Hector the Horse.

RedanianIntel took to Twitter to share the news that Hector would not be returning to the show, stating: “Henry Cavill and MyAnna Buring won’t be the only ones not returning for S4. We say goodbye to Hector, our Roach.”

Hector the horse was one of the horses that Cavill learnt to ride on, stating that he wanted to learn on several different horses to build up the knowledge Geralt would naturally have.

Hector is not the first beloved member of the cast to exit the show. Henry Cavill announced that he would be leaving The Witcher in October 2022, making season 3 his final one as Geralt of Rivia. While we know Liam Hemsworth will be taking over the role in season 4, there is still no official reasoning for why Cavill decided to leave.

Similarly, MyAnna Buring is leaving The Witcher after her character, Tissaia de Vries, left at the end of Season 3.

Season 4 production has been delayed

Further bad news for show fans was announced today as Redanian Intelligence shared that production has been delayed. While there is no official reason for this delay at this stage, it is likely something to do with the SAG-AFTRA strike taking place.

While filming for the show was initially supposed to begin in September 2023 and continue until May 2024, it is now not going to begin until early 2024. No date has been confirmed at this time.
